我通過考試後，班有一位巴西的女同學要考MEI的writing test.
寫信問我要注意些什麼。我把老師所教的跟我自己應考的經驗，寫出來給他，
也轉載過來給大家參考。希望對之後需要應考的人有幫助。

About the writing test in MEI, you will be asked to write an essay in 30 mins. The full score is 8 points. If you don't get more than 5, you will be asked to take UMEI 007 course, a writing course, next semester.

The questions that I took are 1) giving you something and asking you how or why to do it, and 2) giving you something and asking your opinion (agree or disagree). Nothing is more important than the strature of your essay. Your essay must include at least five paragraphs. The main idea and topic sentences must clearly show up in the first paragraph. From second through fourth sections, they are called the body of the essay. You need to provide some examples and try to explain them. In these parts, we usualy give three examples and explain each one in one pargraph. Finally, the last one is your conclusion. The beginning of the first sentence in this section must be "In conclusion,......" or "Finally,....." and plz write the main idea of the essay again here. It doesn't need many sentences in the last part.

The time arranged is very important, too. You only have 30 mins, but must complete the essay at least five pargraphs. Sometimes, it's not so easy, so you need some practices before the test. When the test starts, read the question, try to organize your thinking and write down the outline for each pargraphs as soon as possible. Normally, you cannot spend more than 3 mins to do it. You have 20~22 mins to write your essay, and gotta back to review or correct any mistake in typo and grammer in 3~5 mins. In order to finish the essay in the limited time, what you can do is just practice again and again before the test.
